Union Finance Minister in his budget speech of 2004-05 proposed to launch a program to upgrade 500 ITIs over the next 5 year @ 100 ITIs\/year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"schemestitle_con\">\n<h3><span class=\"schemestitle\"><i class=\"fa fa-angle-right\"><\/i>\u00a0Objectives<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"schemescontent\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>1. To produce high quality craftsmen from publicly funded ITIs.<\/li>\n<li>2. To enhance knowledge and skills of ITI instructors and trainers.<\/li>\n<li>3. To Promote innovations.<\/li>\n<li>4. To bring about systemic reforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"schemestitle_con\">\n<h3><span class=\"schemestitle\"><i class=\"fa fa-angle-right\"><\/i>\u00a0Major Components<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"schemescontent\">\n<ul class=\"sul_default\">\n<li>1. Improving Quality of Vocational Training<\/li>\n<li>2. Promoting systemic reform and innovation<\/li>\n<li>3. Project Management, and Monitoring and Evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"schemestitle_con\">\n<h3><span class=\"schemestitle\"><i class=\"fa fa-angle-right\"><\/i>\u00a0Features<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"schemescontent\">\n<ul class=\"sul_default\">\n<li>1. Institute Management Committee (IMC) is the apex decision making body.<\/li>\n<li>2. Implementation of Central Management Information System (MIS).<\/li>\n<li>3. 75 % of total fund is provided by Center Government &#038; State Government share yearwise. i. e. 25 %<\/li>\n<li>4. Rs. 3.5 Crores funds for COE &#038; Upgradation of related trade.<\/li>\n<li>5. Rs. 2 Crores funds for only upgradation of trades<\/li>\n<li>6. 87 institutes covered under this project.<\/li>\n<li>7. Incentive fund is provided for the State on performance basis.<\/li>\n<li>8. Based on the performance of ITIs on the basis of utilization of funds, affiliation of units, percentage of candidates passing out, an additional fund of Rs. 1.50 cr. per ITI is provided for
